Sometimes parents still let their children slept in the same bed until a certain age. Sleeping with the children can indeed benefit, but when the child should have to have the courage to sleep alone?
Dr. William Sears as the pediatrician said that sleep is a bed with children can increase the bond between parent and child, and make a child grow into more confident, as quoted from babycenter, Monday (01/08/2011).
There are also several things into consideration parents to let their children sleep a bed that is:
1. Moment to improve the bonding, for busy parents, then sleeping together can be one way to improve ties with children, especially for the father because he probably had little time together with children.
2. To make it easier when breastfeeding, mothers are still breast feeding to her child would be easier if the baby slept in the same bed with him, so he can more quickly deliver milk when her son woke up at night because of hunger.
However parents should not let their children sleep together until he entered school, because at the age of 6-7 years children should be able to sleep alone in his room.
To train the child to dare to sleep alone in his room can be started since he was about 3 years. This condition will give a gradual learning process so that when a child reaches school age, he had dared to sleep in her own room.
For starters there's nothing wrong parents accompany the child until she fell asleep, after which parents can leave children sleeping alone in a room. Another important thing is parents need to be flexible in the sense that if one day the child awoke at night and want to move into her parents' room so no need to be banned.
Also make the child feel comfortable with the conditions of his room, one involving the child in determining his room like a paint color. And if the child is often moved into her parents' room at night, then find the cause so that parents can know what the best solution to the problem.
